Ammonites - Spring Creek, Cooke Co., TX

In Cooke Co., we found very large Eopachydiscus, Mortoniceras, and Idiohamites. Some of the Eopachydicus were up to three feet in diameter. Spring Creek in Cooke County is one of the premier collecting sites in north Texas, however, most of the sites are on private land. The Eopachydiscus are so plentiful that in some areas you can walk across the creek on them. This is the Cretaceous - Albian stage - Duck Creek Formation (c. 103 mya).
